Portraits 2

These are a selection of the images from today's shoot, these are inspired by advertisements for make-up, more specifically lipstick. I wanted to keep the image simple with soft lighting and simple make-up with bold lips and fingernails.

Here are some images from today's shoot. These images are inspired by Guess advertisements, I've converted them into grayscale:

Artist Research

Another of my favourite fashion photographers is Rebecca Litchfield. She has worked for several publications and companies. One of her most recognised shoot is one she did in collaboration with Beefeater's Gin:

I'd love to do a shoot like this but there is so much going on in the image it would be insane for me to try! I love the colours, composition and the quirkiness of this shoot and will use these aspects to inspire my work rather than try and recreate the image.

Here are some studio shots from one of my favourite fashion photographers, Lara Jade:

Portrait Proposals

For my portrait images I plan to do one fashion shoot inspired by Guess and Religion advertisements and for my second I plan to do a beauty shot to assist my product shot of lipstick.

The fashion shoot I'm planning on using a male model and a female model and styling them with lots of black clothing and dark eye make-up. Ad with the use of one or maybe two lights I'd like to create a bold contrast of the dark attire and pale skin of the models. Here's an example of the type of image I hope to recreate:

For my second portrait I plan to use the same female model and change her make up style from heavy eye make-up to bold lipstick. I'd like the image to be much softer and so I will only need one light with perhaps a backlight. This image will be a head and shoulders only shot similar to this:

Product Proposal

For my product photo shoot I plan to take images of make up.
I've chosen the newest range of lipsticks by Rimmel designed by supermodel, Kate Moss.
I've chosen to recreate these images because I'm a fan of the product and also I find the advertisements striking; they always grab my attention when I see them in magazines.
For this shot I will need a plain white background, and at least two lights (one behind the subject, and another above with a softbox to ensure the light isn't too harsh).

Here are a few images of the Rimmel advert as seen in magazines and posters:
